Trochilocharax ornatus, the fire glass tetra

The tiny tetras are rarely, if ever, seen in the aquarium hobby, but are truly beautiful, particularly when settled into a planted aquarium. Sometimes traded under the name of "Hummingbird Tetras," these are a relatively clear fish with yellow fins licked with orange and red. In mature fishes, the body may have hints of green or blue.
As a very small tetra, these fish should not be mixed with larger fish that may eat them. They mix well with nano tetras and cyprinids, such as Ember Tetras, Celestial Pearl Danios, and the like. They may also be kept with any number of smaller catfishes, and may also be mixed with some of the smaller cichlids (such as Apistogrammoides).
