Rama chandramara

Rama chandramara is one of the newer additions to the hobby, introduced as the Indian subcontinent has become a focus point for fish collecting and exporting. These are small, active catifshes that do best in small groups, and will often shoal together. They appreciate numerous hiding spots, such as plants, driftwood, and the like, as well as open swimming room.
Rama catfish are relatively shy, and placid. They should not be kept with aggressive or super active fishes. Ideal tank mates would include any of the various anabantoids, including wild Bettas, Licorice or Dwarf Gouramies, or Apistogramma. Some of the less active tetras will also mix quite well, as will Loricariids, Corydoras, and similar. We do recommend that a good, high quality, sinking pellet be given as a staple for their diet, such as New Era Catfish Pellets.
