This is a larger sized cichlid, which can reach lengths of nearly a foot, though we sell only juveniles at about 3-4". These cichlids can be fairly aggressive, particularly with one another. They are natural herbivores, and will rapidly mow down any aquatic plants in the aquarium. A quality vegetable based food is a must in the aquarium, and we strongly recommend our New Era Cichlid Grazers to offer these fish a constant supply of food.

These large cichlids will mix well with other larger cichlids, such as any of the species of Nandopsis. They can also be successfuly maintained with any of the larger Loricariids, large tetras, rainbowfish, and cyprinids. A beautiful display could be set up around these fish with some Rohan's Barbs!
