Like the more commonly encountered Siamese Algae Eater (C. atrilimes), the Network Siamese Algae Eater is an incredibly algae eater. While the SAE and many other fishes will nibble on black beard algae, the Network Algae Eater devours the stuff. They gladly eat other algae from the aquarium as well, including films, brush, string, and hair algae.
Keep in mind that this is not a small fish when fully grown. While we are offering individuals at about 2", these will reach 6" or so in the home aquarium. These are a shoaling fish, and should be kept in groups of no less than a half dozen.
